^lThe PICT Control Installer

The installer exists to install the PICT Control definition resource (CDEF ID 256) into any resource file.

When you click on the Installer icon a standard “open box” will appear.  Choose the resource file you want to install the PICT Control definition function in.  If there’s already a CDEF with an ID of 256 in the resource file, you’ll be asked if you want to replace it.

That’s it.

And, yes, you could accomplish the same thing by using ResEdit.  This just may be more convenient, that’s all.
